Mr Ceesay was born in 1965 in a rural village called Basse Dampha Kunda,  Upper River region of the Gambia, West Africa, 377 KM from   Banjul, the Capital city.

In 1979, aged 15 years old. Mr Ceesay embarked on his journey, travelling from The Gambia to Europe through  Senegal and sub-Saharan countries, such as Mali, Algeria, and Libya, looking for a greener pasture.

He currently resides in Hamburg City, Germany.

Alhagie  Saikou Ceesay first initiated the Dampha Kunda Diaspora Organisation concept. He aims to unite all citizens of Dampha Kunda village anywhere in the world ( as the saying goes, Unity is strength, and divided, we fall). Together, we can make a difference and improve the livelihood of everyone in our community.

06th August 2018, on Monday evening, was a pivotal moment for Mr Ceesay `s dream to be implemented. When a thought came to him, one of the most accessible social media communication outlet channels to reach out to mass anytime and anywhere in the world at your own convenient time to interact, chat, exchange messages and listen to audio quickly is to create a WhatsApp Group, he called it Dampha Kunda Diaspora Organisation and to the joint is free. However, it would help if you obey our rules and regulations in a memorandum of association.

His dream becomes reality. This  WhatsApp group has 218 active participants and six virtual departments: the president committee, financial, police and security, credit control, IT department, and work and communication. This acts as a social media platform for all participants to interact with each other and to give updates about our village development projects and public announcements about anything related to Dampha Kunda village, such as birth, death, and loss of relatives, family, and friends.

Virtual meetings and discussions will be held, and village development projects will be initiated.

Mr Ceesay often visits the Gambia, precisely Dampha Kunda, on vacation.

According to Mr Ceesay, he felt an emotional trauma when he witnessed pregnant women, babies and children dying of preventable diseases such as

Malaria, dysentery and common viral infections due to a lack of proper medical facilities compared to the best healthcare facilities he has at his disposal in Germany. This inspired Mr Ceesay to mobilise the Dampha Kunda Diaspora Community to offer the community back home social, health and infrastructural development.
